Where did you have your Work Experience and can you explain a little bit about the company?

I was placed at Daffodil’s Day Nursery. I had to supervise children of the ages from 1 to 5 years old.

How was your first day?

I was nervous the first day, but staff made me feel welcome and if I had any problems, they were there to support me. Each day I grew more confident. My first and second days I was placed in the baby room, feeding, playing, and interacting with them.

What did you enjoy the most?

I enjoyed working with the toddlers as I felt it was easier to work with them and I found it more fulfilling interacting with them.

What did you least enjoy?

The baby room was noisy and chaotic and I had to change their nappies.

What have you learnt from WEX? Any new skills?

Overall, I learnt to be patient in a stressful environment.

What would you suggest to other WEX to other students?

I would suggest having an open mind and have a positive attitude.

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years’ time?

Art is my passion so Art Therapy supporting children.
