Business 1 2

William a Year 12 Level 3 Business student was working hard in his lesson with his business unit. He was kind enough to spare some time and answer the following questions.

Why did you apply to HPS6F?

I applied to HPS6F because I wanted to improve my grades and have a good education. HPS6F offers this.

What have you enjoyed the most whilst studying your course?

I have learnt more about ownership of business; who owns a business, obtaining a loan and other aspects of setting up a business from conducting research, writing a business plan to choosing a business name.

Have you had any challenges and how did you overcome them?

I had a fear of standing up in front of the class to give a presentation. I overcame this by using speaker notes whilst presenting which helped me give a good talk in the end.

How would you encourage a student thinking of applying here? What would you say?

I would say the teachers are very supportive. HPS6F has given me the opportunity to improve myself and learn about a subject that I had no knowledge of before.

How have you managed to keep on track with work through lockdown? Has it been easy or challenging?

It was very challenging because I had lots of internet and laptop issues and it was hard to keep up with my coursework. My teacher was able to direct me so I was able to catch up.

Where would you like to see yourself by the end of the course?

I would like to find an apprenticeship, possible law or go to university.
